Solar Irrigation Installation Skills Workshop Talk

Come to learn and help set up a solar irrigation system at Nevern Valley Veg. We are a small minimum-till market garden between Nevern and Felindre Farchog. During this skill share, we'll be setting up a solar powered water pump to take water to the top of the site, which will supply a gravity-fed irrigation system for annual vegetable production.

The day will be a hands on, learn as we go session with Michael Shakib answering all your questions relating to irrigation set-up!  We will be introducing the site constraints, the design we've adopted and the different options for irrigation.

Bring along tools to get stuck in setting up the solar panels, laying out the pipes and preparing a platform for the water tank.

Please car share or cycle! We do not have parking on the site, but if the land is dry we can park in the field (there is also a layby just by the field - but only space for approx 4 cars).

Amenities - we have a rudimentary compost toilet in the barn. No electricity so bring a flask of tea and ample drinking water.

Bring - spades, mattocks, saws, hammers, battery powered drills, screw drivers if you have.

Lunch - we'll have a shared lunch, so please bring a dish to share and your own plate and cutlery.
